Hello Everyone!
I hope that you all had a wonderful Summer Vacation. It was so nice to be able to meet all of you who were able to attend last week and those who were not today! I know that we are going to have an excellent year in fifth grade!
Today, was a fantastic day in fifth grade!!! We played an ice breaker getting to know you name game where the students had to think of an animal that begins with the same letter as their first name and then remember the whole class. The class had a great time trying to figure out names of animals that begins with the same name. The students enjoyed playing this and we will continue to get to know each other throughout the school year!
The students were very excited to meet “Princess” our class pet. She is a 3 year old gerbil. She loves running in her wheel and chewing on paper towel tubes when she is not sleeping. The students may also find her running around the classroom in her ball, to get some exercise. (They will love this!!)
This week the students will be previewing their books and learning how to use them as a learning tool.
Here are a few highlights of what is happening this week in Fifth Grade...
