Hello Everyone!
I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.
This week the fifth grade is responsible for the Liturgy on Thursday, at 10:15 AM with Fr. Mike Kuhn from ODU. Please try to join us, if you can.
PTO is looking for a 5th grade parent representative! If your schedule allows you to make this commitment, it would be greatly appreciated! Please contact me and let me know if you would like to fill this position.
Just as an update we had to change our Science Lab time to 11:00 AM-11:45 AM and I will be sending home an updated schedule.
This month our book report is a Mystery! Please make sure that your student has selected a mystery to begin reading. If you are not sure that the book is a mystery or on grade level, please send it in with your child and I will check for you. I will be posting the information about the book report this week on SchoolSpeak. I will be going over the information and the rubric in class as to answer any questions that the students may have about the book report.
Here are a few highlights of what is happening this week in Fifth Grade...
Religion- We are continuing to learn about how Jesus shares his mission with each of us. The students will be identifying the reasons why we celebrate the Paschal Mystery in the liturgy and to learning about the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy.
Math- We will be learning how to solve word problems using the Guess and Test Strategy. We will also be preparing for our Chapter 1 Test on Place Value. Then we will be learning about Multiplication, the terms and how to write addition problems as multiplication sentences.
