Tomorrow will be Crazy Hat, Socks and Shoes Day!!! Regular Uniforms will be worn with the addition of a crazy hat, crazy socks and crazy shoes!
Wednesday is Spring Picture Day!!!
I wanted to give everyone a heads up that Mass will be on Thursday at 10 AM, with Fr. Brian. Please wear your church uniforms.
April's Book Report is a Biography! Information came home last Thursday!

PCRS Scholastic Book Fair begins today!
Here are a few highlights of what is happening this week in Fifth Grade...
Religion- The students will be taking their Chapter 16 Test on Wednesday! Then we will be learning more about Jesus' healing ministry and the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
Math- We are learning about line graphs and circle graphs they will be able to determine which type of graph would be best for certain results. We will be reviewing how to find probability. The students will be tested on Chapter 7 on Tuesday.
Please remind your student to practice on IXL- Level G exercises Y.1-Y.7 and S.1-S.15 e all excellent choices for practice this week. We are trying to complete over 35,000 math problems as a class.
Science- The students will be learning about how ecosystems can be reclaimed and what we can do to restore ecosystems.
Science Lab- We will be working on an experiment called Water Electrolysis which means that we will be ripping apart the Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms in water using electricity.
Social Studies- We will be taking a test on Wednesday on Chapter 6. Then we will be learning more about Life in the Colonies. The students will be able to explain why and how people colonized and settled in the English colonies. They will be able to explain the conditions of travel to the colonies. They will also be able to distinguish the difference between indentured servants and enslaved captives.
Reading- We are reading “Off and Running” which is a Realistic Fiction written by Gary Soto. The students will be taking a Test on this story on Thursday.
Language Arts- The students will be learning new Word Study words this week to help the students to spell based off of the main features included in their word lists.
This week in Vocabulary we will be working on Unit 14. Please encourage your child to visit website for activities to strengthen their vocabulary skills.
In Grammar, the students will be learning about the different kinds of Pronouns.
Physical Education/Health- We will participate in a Skills Assessment and Cooperative games.
Music- Students will finish their compositions by performing them for the class.
Spanish - The student will continue to discuss things found at a bank and learn some cultural similarities and differences in regards to banking.
Technology- This week in Technology, the students will be working on data graphing and blogging. Then the students will continue working on IXL, Videotaping their commercials in the broadcasting studio and the President's research.
Art- Students will be introduced to NASA Langley Research Center’s Art Contest “The Future Is Now”. Please Sign and Return the Permission Slips for the NASA Poster Contest.
