Hello Everyone!
I hope that you all had an awesome long Weekend and that you enjoyed your Columbus Day!
Just a reminder that Mass this week is on Wednesday, October 15th at 10 AM.
Don't forget to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences on SchoolSpeak!
Today, I have published all of the students grades on SchoolSpeak. You will be able to check your child's progress weekly on Thursday from today through the end of the year. If your child has a missing assignment it goes in the grade book as an “M” for missing, this counts as a zero until it has been completed and turned in.
October is the Month of Mary. If your child has a rosary, please send it to school with them. We will be saying a decade of the rosary each morning. If they do not have a rosary I will provide them with one to use in class. Thanks so much!!
Please do not forget that the students are required to read and do IXL for 10 minutes a night and record it on their Logs. It counts as a quiz grade. Please assist me in helping your child become a lifelong reader. These logs are do every Monday for a quiz grade.
Here are a few highlights of what is happening this week in Fifth Grade...
Religion- The students will be introduced to the church's liturgical year. They will be able to identify the different colors for the seasons and ways to identify what season it is when in a church. They will also learn that throughout the liturgical year we will learn about the whole life of Christ. We will be discussing the season of Ordinary time and what the word ordinary means. The students will learn what it means to venerate or show devotion to Mary. They will also be able to identify the solemnities that we celebrate in the United States. We will begin discussing All Saints Day!
