Scantron Testing began today. Please remember that the students should get plenty of rest the nights before tests and have a good breakfast in the morning to help them focus on doing their very best.
If you have not sent in your reading log from the Summer, please do so ASAP!
Here are a few highlights of what is happening this week in Fifth Grade...
Religion- The students will be exploring ways to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. They will be learning that we celebrate Christ's Paschal Mystery in the liturgy. The students will be introduced to the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy.
Math- We will be learning how to estimate sums and differences using front-end estimation and rounding. They will learn how to add three or more addends, with regrouping. We will also be working on subtracting whole numbers and money amounts with zeros in the minuend. I will be mentioning IXL in class and I will be encouraging the class to use their IXL accounts to reinforce the learning that is taking place in the classroom. To make logging in easier, I changed their IXL passwords to just their library numbers.
