Hello Everyone!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend!
Thank you to everyone who came out to volunteer for the various booths at Fun Day on Friday! The students said they had a BLAST!!!
Yearbooks are on sale in the school office for $25 each.
We will be having Mass on Wednesday. Please do not drop your students off for Mass at Saint Paul's Catholic Church on Wednesday. You will need to stay with your students for Mass and the Awards Ceremony.
Here are a few highlights of what is happening this week in Fifth Grade...
Religion- The students will be learning more about the sacrament of Holy Orders and learning about the Pentecost.
Math- This week the students will be exploring measurement. Please encourage your students to use IXL this Summer.
Science- The students will be learning about the three properties of matter.
Science Lab- The students will be participating in several different science experiments this week. Today, we made oobleck (slime). The students really enjoyed this although they thought it was messy.
Social Studies- The students will be working on their Studies Weekly Newspaper.
Reading- The students will be given an opportunity to play their awesome Game Board Book reports.
Language Arts- The students will be given a Word Study Final Assessment.
Physical Education/Health- No Class this week.
Music- No Class this week.
Spanish - Listen to the traditional Mexican song Las mañanitas a popular birthday song and The students will try to fill in the blanks of missing words. They will continue with cursive writing and drawings.
Technology- Students will be introduced to Edmodo. The students will work on their states and capitals by using an interactive game.
Art- Students will prepare to bring home art portfolios in which to store their art. If time allows, we will fill them this week and send them home!
